Our School

History

St. Charles High School opened in August 2014 and serves as an anchor in a new green community underway in the St. Charles area. In addition to the nearly 1300 students who attend St. Charles daily our school contains several specialized features, available for use by all Charles County Public Schools students, including a digital classroom, Science on a Sphere, and a 6-lane indoor swimming pool.

St. Charles High School offers the same program of study available at all Charles County high schools and all courses offered will allow students to meet requirements to obtain a Maryland State Board of Education diploma. Students can pursue a scholar’s course of study, enroll in Advanced Placement courses, and participate in extra-curricular activities, sports, and clubs.  In June 2016 our first graduates, nearly 300 in total, earned over $10 million in college scholarship offers!

Our Mission

The mission of St. Charles High School is to build a safe, equitable, and collaborative educational community where students experience rigorous instruction, acquire cultural awareness, and develop responsibility and professionalism that prepares them for life-long learning.
