There’s a little something for everyone this fall as CCPS high schools stage mysteries, comedies and classics. Theater students throughout Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) are putting the finishing touches on productions that will take the stage from October to December.
Join the women of Chinquapin Parish Oct. 22 to 24 when La Plata High School stages “Steel Magnolias.” Based on the women writer Robert Harding was raised by and around, the shows are 6:30 p.m. each night with tickets $10 for adults and $5 for students. To buy tickets, visit the school’s Eventbrite page.
Written by the razor-sharp Oscar Wilde, the social satire “The Importance of Being Earnest,” will be performed Nov. 5 through 7 at North Point High School. Join the cast and crew of Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society’s newest production where anything that can go awry definitely will. The biggest mystery — written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields — might be how the show ever made it to the stage in the first place. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for students, and available at Lackey’s gofan.com account closer to Nov. 19.
Famous detectives from literature and pop culture are the suspects in “Too Many Detectives at the Murder Mansion,” Nov. 19 to 21 at Thomas Stone High School.
